streaming appletv+ on chrome webrowser on chromebook laptop

Having always watched apple tv+ on my chromebook laptop (using the chrome browser), since august 2021 that has stopped working. An error message says browser not supported. Unclear why this change has occured.

Why can't get Apple TV shows to play in Chrome browser? I have a subscription. I have the current version of Chrome. I log into Apple TV. I get to scroll shows, and yet when I select play it opens a video screen, but it will not play. Sometimes it displays the button to hit play or forward or back (not all the time), and even when I click on the buttons it will not play. I have tried this in Chrome and MS Edge browsers (both current, logged in). I have no problem using the same account on my iPad, but when I try to use it elsewhere it will not stream. Why?

Apple documentation still says that Chrome OS and the Chrome browser are supported.
