iPhone 13 Camera is blurry

It's not a camera effect. It's a camera defect. There's a difference and it's got nothing to do with "our needs". Our need is a camera system that performs at least as well as a 5 year old iphone.

How can it be classed as an 'effect'? HDR shouldn't equal god awful photo quality, my first ever iPhone was a 4S and I swear that would have taken better selfies in lower light!

When you pay over £1,000 for a phone, you expect a half decent photo, it's ridiculous. I am an hour drive away from the closest apple store and I shouldn't have to drive 2 hours just for them to look at it. You can clearly see from my photos earlier in the thread how awful they are in low light, it needs sorting ASAP

Sorry man, you mean to tell me all these people (50 pages by now) had wrong expectations. The pictures (selfies, front camera) are far worse than from a previous iPhone (6). You telling people they are better while they clearly are not does not help.

It doesn't matter how "good" a product might be from a purely engineering perspective. If millions of people have a similar problem and can't find a work around or fix for the problem the product is a failure. Gaslighting the users is deceitful. Apple failed on this one and they've become so arrogant they can't admit it.

Any time you use the zoom the image gets distorted. apple is being really arrogant these days. any time you criticize them too much they delete your post too. I took these pictures of a weasel that listed me at work today and used the zoom to get close without scaring him/her and the pictures are pixelated.

Seriously, Get a real one. These cameras are very expensive and once your committed into the apple ecosphere it's nearly impossible to get out. This isn't a market economy that works it's a top down dictatorship and Apple is making crap.

I have posted many photo in slightly low light at AWFUL quality in this forum and they keep getting deleted… when I spend over £1000 on a phone I expect it to look better than if it was taken on a 2006 model Motorola!!

I can’t tell any different yet, it’s the selfie camera that is terrible for me, oil like texture and in even slightly low light, it turns to about 10 pixels, utterly terrible for the value of the phone (mine is 13pro)

Yup. Here's niter disappointing picture supposedly taken with the world's best phone. It seems mostly to occur with the zoom feature which is no surprise. They use a digital zoom feature which is terrible on every phone I[ve ever used. My son participates in a ,lot of sporting events and I take its of pictures. Every time, without fail I download all the images into my computer and a good half or more of them are of such poor quality I delete them.ets pixelated and washed out.

No, Wrong. My wife's Samsung took the same pictures on the same day and she knows nothing about photography and all of her pictures came out great of the same thing on the same day. Same thing withy her windows tablet. We can both stand next to yachter and take the same picture and hers always aces compared to mine.

Without knowing exactly which camera you used (you can choose the wrong camera for the scene you're taking a photo of), comparing your wife's phone to your iPhone is a meaningless comparison. I admit the photo isn't good. But you could have been zoomed in using the wrong camera and got the best result that camera and setting could have taken.

Sure, these are for the most part point and shoot cameras. But choosing the right camera for the job makes all the difference.

Do you honestly know about the cameras and their setting options on your iPhone? Or did you just take a bad photo and decide the cameras on your iPhone are not good?

If you create something that is so complex most people can't figure it out it doesn't matter what great technology you think is in it, it insult good technology. The Samsung is a better camera. She never gets and picture and I get them everyday no matter what I Dom not matter the toggle to fix. I've bent taking picture since the days of film with rich Cameras, Nikons and had multiple digital cameras and an iPhone 5c and all of them gave me great pictures. I actually know a bit about technology and cameras. There's something wrong with this one with everyone reporting the same results. Apple aim; t perfect. throve made aleman and refuse to a admit it.

Perhaps you should have factored that into your buying decision before buying the Mini. Had you purchased a Pro, it would have come with Macro Photographic capabilities. You can't blame Apple here. You chose the wrong phone.

Stop calling that stuff macro. I’m not asking for macro pictures. They just took the ability to take closer pictures with the mini, added some workaround with the wide angle lens for the pro, called that „macro“ (still was worse than the iPhone 12) and left the 13 mini alone with the issue.

Why can’t you be angry about this? So your advice would be to get the older 12 mini to be able to take a normal picture of a credit card for example?

Again. I don’t want or need macro. This is macro.

I just want to be able to take normal pictures of anything around the size of an orange.

And again. 3 people at the genus bar yesterday said that this is very weird and shouldn’t be like that. It’s not just customers complaining and nitpicking.

Yeah. That’s a feature you don’t necessarily test directly when buying a phone.

It‘s like: „huh, let’s see if this new phone for 800€ can still do the same as the predecessor“. You simply assume that it’s able to do more than the older devices.

Also in any other aspect this phone is 10/10. It’s really sad. So there are many reasons to keep it. Even tho the camera is a downgrade.
