2nd homepod in stereo pair doesn't update

Recently I updated the rest of my devices to iOS 15 (or equivalent). Today I noticed that my stereo paired HomePods hadn’t updated. I went into the home app and ran the update procedure. However, only the 1st HomePod updated. The second is still stuck at 14.7. And there doesn’t seem to be a way to select the 2nd HomePod individually - the Home app only shows them as a pair.

is there a way to force the second device to update? Do I need to unpair them?

It should happen automatically, but since it hasn't I would break the pair and update manually.

I think this would have worked… but in the end I didn’t need to. When I went in to unpair them, the update showed up as being available (for the pair). I hit install and it went through just fine. Damnifiknow.
