iPhone 13 ProMax HDR photos oversaturated (i.e look fake)

Night mode will always do what it can to make a good photo out of a limited amount of light; it's not a miracle, it's processing.

Just looks are in different way.

That's simply not what most iPhone users think or the iPhone 13 would not sell as well as it does.

Fair enough that some people like the enhanced colours but for those of us who would like the photo to look realistic colorise what phone should we buy? Does the iPhone 12 still have saturated reds?

The iPhone 12 has customizable HDR settings, which you can read about here - Adjust HDR camera settings on iPhone - Apple Support

Every iPhone from the 7 to the 12 models can have HDR disabled.

I 100% agree. I took my iPhone 13 back today. But I am stuck as to what phone to buy. I love to take sunrise photos and iPhone 13 did not produce photos I could use.

Yes ! i despise the over saturation it looks so fake ppl have commented that i've photoshopped pictures when they were 100% untouched

Same boat ...i hate the fake over saturated look. I've researched for a solution and there isn't one - so much cash for such a disappointment

So very disappointed with sunset pics on iPhone 13 Pro Max. I take the pic and it immediately goes dim. Looks nothing like it did.

Tried all the suggested adjustments in Settings, to no avail.

Yes it’s so bad! It’s more obvious when “live” is turned on. It makes the picture look so dull
