If on Xfinity internet, turn off Private Relay in IOS 15. After turning Private Relay off, ungroup HomePods, reboot your router, HomePods, and AppleTV. Then Stereo Pair your HomePods again. On AppleTV set your audio output to the HomePod stereo pair. That seemed to work for me.
Same **** after the update to IOS 15.1…
All devices are signed in with the same AppleID. I have restarted all devices (including my iPhone and iPad) and it seems to be resolved for the moment, but this is the second time I have had to do that since the HomePods were updated to version 15. I should also have said that it is two HomePods (original) in a stereo pair.
I’ve been fighting this since 15 dropped. Was driving me crazy!
just turned off “advanced security” on my Xfinity cable modem / Wi-Fi, then turned off the power strip for the ATV and HomePod, then back on.
it started working immediately!
if you have Xfinity, test by disabling advanced security. You can do this in the Xfinity app under overview->account->privacy center.
