iOS 15 Bluetooth volume

Ever since I updated to iOS 15, the volume on my bluetooth earbuds has been significantly decreased, even when listening to the normal levels I’ve used since getting them.

Is there a way to fix this volume issue?

Same problem. The issue that helped me, even though it is a massive bug, is to go into settings and set the volume of the ringer with the change with buttons enabled to maximum volume. My setting was about 2/3 volume, and that is what my volume on bluetooth headphones was reduced to. When I increased it to full blast, the volume on headphones went to maximum. This IS A BUG, and you are doing nothing wrong with the simple headphone volume setup. I have been posting bugs to Apple for a couple of update versions already with this problem emphasized. No response.

It seems the "Change with buttons" setting on ringer for phone is interacting with the actual volume of music on headphones for some reason. If you set the "Ringer" volume to minimum, you will lose all volume in your headphones even though the setting is supposed to control ringer volume and not headphone volume.

Massiv ebug and it is very annoying. I turn my headphones up to hear them, and when I later open Music and play a song, the volume will go back to normal and blast out of my headphones hurting my ears. The volume will then decrease on it's own due to the bug, and I have to turn the volume up to hear.

It is random. It will work for a while, and then on a run, the volume just craters to nothing for no reason. I found going into sound and raising ringer volume to max fixed it. you could hear the music volume increase each time to raised the ringer volume one click until maximum volume on ringer. Now I don't want my ringer on full volume, so it is a pain to deal with. Such a simple feature with such a big bug.

Greetings llucero9848,

We understand that you are having some difficulty with the volume when using your headphones with your iPhone, and we'd like to help. Begin by following the guidance found here:

Adjust the volume on iPhone

We'd also like to have you take a look at the following article to help with your headphones. Although this article is referring more to wired headphones, there are still some steps within the article that can help.

If your headphones don't work with your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

If you unpair and pair the headphones back to your device, does the issue remain?

Pair a third-party Bluetooth accessory with your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Also, are you able to test the headphones with another device running iOS 15? Or another pair of Bluetooth headphones with your device?

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

Take care.

Same issue with ANY third party bluetooth device.

Even at MAX volume, iphone 13 running 15.1 only plays audio at extremely low levels with no way to increase.

Forgetting / re-pairing only solves the issue temporarily until the device is connected again.

This is actually extremely DANGEROUS as it effects volume of paired audio in cars.

Fumbling / adjusting your phone while driving is illegal in many states.

This, along with the forced mute and haptics sounds that can not be turned off make ios 15 a complete joke.
