Can’t continue from a paused point in show

While using the appleTV app on roku, if I pause the viewing, i cant continue from the paused point in show, it always starts over from the beginning. this does not happen on iOS app just the Roku version.

everything was up to date, restarts had no difference, and the issue effected all apple tv content.

signing out, resetting the app, and then signing in again after restarting the app did resolve the issue.

We understand that shows you've paused within the Apple TV app on your TV do not resume when unpaused and instead play from the beginning of the show. We'd like to help.

Are there any app or TV updates? If so, we would suggest installing any available updates first.

What happens when you close the Apple TV app and restart it?

Is this only occurring with specific shows or all content in the app?

If the issue persists after trying those suggestions, sign out and sign back into the app. Here's some information on how to do that: Get the Apple TV app on your smart TV, streaming device, or game console.
