Big Sur - Out of Application Memory - Not true.

I got a out of "application memory" error with 11GB of free RAM according to Activity Monitor and I have 700GB of available storage on my 2015, 15" Macbook Pro.

What is the issue? Thoughts? Thanks!

Thanks for the reply. I see many posts about this issue, and all the fixes are for when you run out of RAM or storage, neither of which are applicable in my case. I normally have actively monitor open for this very reason. There was ample available RAM and storage available, therefore, no application needed to be force quit, or process ended.

Hi lvguts,

Thanks for coming to Apple Support Communities for help today with the application memory message.

Have you been into Activity Monitor. See this page in the User Guide for closing an app or process: Quit an app or process in Activity Monitor on Mac.

If the issue continues, see if it happens in safe mode and then reboot normally: How to use safe mode on your Mac.

Let us know more details if the issue continues.

Have a fantastic day!
