iPad Air 4 Power Button Not Working

I just received my Ipad Air 4th Gen. Upon unboxing it, I was unable to turn it on by using the power button. I had to charge it in order to turn it on.

After initial setup and further inspection, I found out that only the power button did not work because I managed to register my fingerprint for Touch ID. That means I cant use the power button to sleep/wake. Upon shutting down the Ipad via the settings menu, I can't turn on the Ipad when the power button is pressed.

In short:

Pressing the power button won't turn on the Ipad after shutting down
Sleep/wake function did not activate after pressing the power button
Touch ID is working and I can unlock my Ipad using it
