Scratchs and parasites electric sounds, Logic Pro

While playing the tracks, or recording I keep getting pop/clicks that make the tracks unusable - they seem to come at random and not at particularly loud points or anything like that. It's an electronic sound that seems to affect the whole pitch range of the sound, it also comes while bouncing. They are random and don't show in the tracks. The noise is not part of the audio information, and it happens randomly like plops or clicks. random annoying static noise. I have a MacBook Pro (15-inch, 2018) 2.2 GHz 6-Core Intel Core i7, 16 GB 2400 MHz DDR4, macOS big sur 11.6 (20G165).

I'm using a sound card Quantum 2626 Thunderbolt 3, but the problem also happens with the sound card disconnected and the sound coming from the Mac speakers.

They're like scratchs and parasites electric sounds, as well as cutting the sound for a micro sec.

I just can't record, already contacted the people from Presonus we try different methods but the problem, is not the sound card. because it happens even with the sound card disconnected.

As well happen when I play a video on YouTube, having Logic Pro open.

Hi,

I personally find Logic does not like other audio based apps running at the same time ESPECIALLY if they have different Sample Rates ( e.g.YouTube 48k, Logic at 44.1k).

Does the issue happen if you cold boot and launch and use one app?

Since the issue happens with Core Audio there is most likely something in the system that is causing issues.

Suggestions:

1) Make sure that other apps are not loading at startup in the background ( like Spotify ). Disable and test

2) Make sure ALL audio apps are up to date and FULLY support Big Sur.

3) Watch out for rogue plugins. Make sure all plugins are validated in Logic and they fully support Big Sur. Remove any old/unused plugins.

4) Any MIDI control surfaces or Devices connected? Make sure they all fully support Big Sur.

5) Prior to working in Logic do a cold boot.

6) Clean House. Remove any old/unused interfaces or MIDI devices in Apple Audio/MIDI setup.

7) Make sure Logic is up to date.

I think you can see the trend...

Hope this helps.

Don
