Hello,
To begin with, you may want to try to reset the printing system and add the printer. Check whether the operating system suggests a suitable driver.

The latest Samsung ML-2525W complete Mac drivers on the HP support site appear to be for OS X 10.10 Yosemite.

Drivers are mentioned in Printer and scanner drivers for Mac - Apple Support as well (Samsung ML-191x252x Series version 1.08.01 and Samsung ML-2525W Series version 4.00.04). There is a Samsung Printer Drivers v2.6 for OS X
package from Apple (Post Date: Nov 14, 2013) at https://support.apple.com/kb/DL905?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_USwhere (where a 20191110 number in the file download link possibly could indicate a later change/verification).
Everything here would be experimental as far as Big Sur is concerned. Do not expect old drivers to work. Software conflicts cannot be ruled out. Data may be lost. Before any tests, make sure that you have backup copies of all important files (documents, photos, et cetera).
If you have access to an older Mac, you could perhaps print from there instead (using OS X 10.10 Yosemite drivers). With the printer connected to that Mac by USB, it should also be possible to share the printer on a network.

Since there are Linux (Ubuntu) drivers for the ML-2525W (via the HP link above), you may even want to carry out an experiment with an old (spare) PC running an earlier version of the free Ubuntu operating system). The idea would be to connect the printer by USB to the PC, and then share this printer on a network. Ubuntu uses CUPS and understands Bonjour. Sharing a printer in Ubuntu will require a few changed settings only. A Mac connected to the network ought to be able to see and use the shared printer.
