PROBLEM WITH MEMORY STICK

I have a problem with memory stick. I am a newbie and most probably just do not understand simple concepts about using a MAC. About different users. About where and how files are stored.

I have tried to look in the manuals and user guides for operating a MAC computers, but did not find the the explanation there for my issue.

I have bought a memory stick couple of days ago.

Seems like it is good memory stick.

But…..

The problem is I have set up a 2nd user

So I have now on my MacBookAir myself (Grigory)

          and  2nd user (RIMMA).

So, I save a file into empty memory stick. Does not matter what kind of file. For simplicity it is just a simple text file. Type  a text into this file. --->“Hello from Grigory”

Shut down the computer

Bring it up again as Grigory

Look at the file in Memory stick.

It still has has the same text  ——> “Hello from Grigory”

Shut down computer

Now I bring it up again but now as 2nd user (RIMMA)

Look at the file in Memory stick.

It does not have this file there with text   ——> “Hello from Grigory”

It shows empty memory stick with no files there????

Then I save another text file into this Memory stick with another text ——> “Hello from Rimma”

Shut down computer

Bring computer up again as Grigory

Look at the file in Memory stick.

It should have a message ——> “Hello from Rimma”

But instead it has the only message  that I have  put there ——> “Hello from Grigory”

and no other files???????

What is going on? what do i do wrong?

Thanks a lot for help. Any feedback is appreciated very much.

Hey there grigory176,

Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities. We understand your memory stick isn’t working as expected. We’ll be happy to help.

Does the 2nd user have permission to view the file? Take a look at the info under “If you don’t have permission to view or work with files on a storage device” from this article for some info that could help with this:

Use external storage devices with Mac

You may also find some useful info here as well:

If you can’t find a file on Mac

We hope this helps. Take care.
