Lost all of my Apple TV folders

I have 3 Apple TV 4th generation:

  1. 64 GB HD Apple TV 4
  2. 32 GB 4K Apple TV 4
  3. 32 GB 4K Apple TV 4


I upgraded the 64 GB HD Apple TV 4 (1) to tvOS 15 and now every single application has been taken out of its corresponding folder and sorted alphabetically. I went to one of the 4K Apple TVs (2) that is still on the latest tvOS 14 version, and I lost all of the folders there as well but the sorting is different. I went ahead and created one folder for the Games loaded on (2) and then checked (1) and it is not respecting that I created a folder. Previously, the Apple TVs would stay in sync with how the folders and apps were placed on the screen. What happened?

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. We understand your Home Screen is out-of-order on your Apple TV after an update. We can look into this.


If you would like to keep apps and the Home Screen up-to-date across multiple Apple TVs, check here:


  1. Open Settings  on Apple TV.
  2. Go to Users and Accounts > iCloud and turn on One Home Screen.
