Downloading Messages stuck

I received my new iPhone 13 and when setting it up my the back up I did today but the messages have been stuck on “downloading messages from iCloud” for about seven hours now. I’ve tried closing the app. Turning messages off and then on. Restarting my phone. Resetting my network settings. And it also keeps asking my to keep my phone plugged in while doing it. Please Any suggestions???

Thanks for following up with us. Do your messages appear to be fully downloaded, or are the messages missing? About how much space is available on the device currently? Tap Settings > General > iPhone Storage.

You'll also want to be sure to connect your iPhone to a strong, reliable Wi-Fi network as well as a power source while your messages download. Depending on the amount of data you have for Messages in iCloud, this process can take some time to complete.

All the best!

Hi Laceves,

From your post, it sounds like text messages are still downloading from iCloud. Is the iPhone being restored from iCloud at the moment? You can check by going to Settings > Your Name > iCloud > iCloud Backup. Depending on the size of the backup, it may take a while to complete. We recommend staying connected to Wi-Fi and plugging in the device to allow the download to complete.

Have a great day.

Most of my messages are there except for the 4-5 days before my last update from contacts that were not " idevices " and also all non idevices that had attachments or pics or things like that are no longer in the conversation thread, only empty bubbles. Very strong wifi's and even now after another complete restore done last night its been 15 hours and my phone still says "downloading messages from iCloud and wants to be plugged in. I don't understand. before the complete restore we did last night with an apple support tech the phone had been doing this since Monday morning when I received my new phone and set it up from the backup I did 15 minutes before hand. Everything is set correctly per the four different support techs Ive spoken with over the phone yesterday...I was hoping this would have solved itself by now. #superfrustrated
