Since updating my 2020 iPhone SE to iOS 15, I’ve had four or five instances of the task bar rapidly rotating to the right-hand edge of the display and back to the top. This seems to happen primarily when opening or switching apps. The phone was being held steadily and vertically each time this has happened, and the apps being opened looked and behaved normally.
As this has only happened a few times, I cannot say if it is particular to specific apps.

Thanks for posting in the Apple Support Communities. We understand your iPhone is unexpectedly rotating your screen when it hasn't been turned in any direction.
Do you notice if this behavior persists when your screen orientation is locked?
For reference: Change or lock the screen orientation on iPhone
Since you mentioned that this will usually occur when opening or switching apps, we'd recommend closing all of your apps first here: Close an app on your iPhone or iPod touch
Once you've closed your apps, let's try force restarting your iPhone: Force restart iPhone
Then you'll want to continue using your iPhone to see if the issue reoccurs.

Mine does this all the time when I open safari on iOS 15. It’s annoying but causes not real harm
I update my iphone 11 to 15.1 and is still there, tha bar rotation... so 😒😒!!!
The news app is doing a similar thing. I caught it on screen recording but I can’t post the video here
It happens when someone has duplicated your sim.
Nobody has duplicated my SIM card.
But I have the same problem.
That cannot be the reason for this bug.
I’m on iPhone 11, iOS 15.2 currently. Noticed this since the iOS 15. Wish there was some acknowledgment from apple about this. I have screenshots and screen recordings of it happening..
I hope your restore did it. I’d love to hear.
This happens with my device also, mainly while opening the mail app. Noticed it once with the Google maps application also.

I’m having the same problem all the time.
This is happening on daily basis on my iPhone 13 Pro even after all proposed suggestions.
I’m dealing with the same problem. Is it just a bug?
