iTunes on Windows library file keeps corrupting, and play counts are no longer syncing with Apple Music.

Hello there, I am currently running a PC on Windows 10 Professional 10.0.19041 x64 and the latest iTunes version 12.12.1.1 and am an Apple Music subscriber. For the last few months I've been having an issue where iTunes will make my computer crash while playing a song and then when my PC restarts, my iTunes library file is corrupt and iTunes has to make a fresh one -- this has happened on 6 separate occasions. Each time this happens, it resets my play counts to a few months ago.

I've also been having the issue where it does not sync playcounts between devices anymore -- despite the option being enabled both within iTunes and on my phone. . I also use Apple Music on my iPhone XS running iOS 14.7.

Hello Veravinifera,

It sounds like you are experiencing issues with iTunes becoming unresponsive as well as not syncing play counts with your iPhone. We understand how important this is to you and we are here to help.

Let's reinstall iTunes and test to see if the issue persists. This article may be able to help: Remove and reinstall iTunes and related software components for Windows 7 and later

As far as your iPhone not syncing play counts, it is running an older version of iOS 14. iOS 14.8 is now available. Let's back up your device and update using this article: Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Let us know the results.

Cheers!
