iMessage 💬 empty bubbles

When using iMessage on my iPhone sending pictures and attachments works fine, received and logged on my phone and MacBook by myself and others. However when sending pics and attachments from my MacBook they send as empty bubbles. No issue with sending, just nothing shows on my phone or others. This has been this way for years, and multiple software updates. It used to be fine on my iMac, but when I upgraded to the air I think I did something wrong in the settings and cannot figure out how to correct. I know others with the same issue and Apple does not seem to have any issues when you reach out to them.

Please help!

Hi KSeven,

We understand you're unable to send iMessages from a Mac. We're happy to offer some guidance.

If your messages are not sending properly, you'll want to start with these basic steps: If you can’t send or receive messages on your Mac

If the messages are still not working, you can try disabling and reactivating the iMessage service. Open the Messages application, then up in the menu bar at the top select Messages > Preferences. In the Preferences window go to the iMessage tap, then sign out of your Apple ID. After you've successfully signed out, sign back in to reactivate iMessage.

If the messages still won't work, we'd recommend contacting Apple for assistance: Get Support

Hello jdo_apple,

I am able to send and receive messages just fine. The only caveat is when I try and share a screenshot, photo or the like, it “sends” out the message. Only to find it sends an empty bubble for a message.

Does this make sense? Attached is a picture of a friend’s computer doing the same thing, but me being on the receiving end. This was an article shared from the web.
