Orange dot!!

Ok I have contacted Verizon and Apple about the orange dot only showing when I receive calls or make calls! Both companies walked me step by step thru settings menu which I almost forgot Verizon was given permission to view my device with me and guide me step by step and after they went thru every single thing and app 1by1 they said “Judy we are stumped!”,we apologize but we have zero clue what is occurring with your device we thought you had something on for microphone recording but your right nothing is on for the mic nothing is even stored for recordings! They offered a free number change or discount to a different device both places offered so if they are aware this is happening why are the phone techs and supervisors not aware? My phone just started this crap approximately 4 mos ago and the crazy crap is I screen recorded the dot to show to Verizon stored in my camera app returned to retrieve it and it was no longer there wtf is happening?
