Same 237 songs syncing each time

Just had my new iPhone 13 Pro Max and the same 237 songs keep syncing the phone

I am syncing direct from my Mac to my iPhone

Is there anyway to prevent these same 237 syncing all the time?

I don't use the cloud for music so that cannot be the issue

Hope you can help as it is taking longer than normal to sync

iPhone 13 Pro, iOS 15

I've seen this happen occasionally after an upgrade to iTunes where it forgets that the device was previously synced to the same library. Each library has a unique ID and the device knows the last library it synced with. If the ID changes for reasons you're back at square one. As long as all the media that should belong on the device is in your library you set it up to sync with the entire library or selected playlists etc. and then leave it to do its thing.

Don't change your Apple ID, that only ever makes things more complicated. It may however pay to sign out of your Apple ID on your phone when you sync content to it. See also the Break up large transfers method from my user tip Corrupt iPod Classic - Apple Community. This may help get your content onto your device if it seems to go wrong when you try to do it in one hit.

Auto-fill can be used to add a random selection from a larger library into a device that doesn't have room for the whole library.

As noted in the post on erratic syncing it may help to sign out of the iTunes Store on your device before attempting to sync content from iTunes. Breaking up the transfer into smaller blocks may allow all you to build up your selection onto it without errors on the way. If/when something goes wrong with populating the device it seems iTunes isn't able to resolve it on the next sync.

This is getting ridiculous now - I thought after downloading 15.1.1 update for iPhone it may have solved it but still after trying to sync my iPhone 13 with iTunes via cable it seems to not recognise what is already on there and syncs my whole 20,000 iTunes songs.

When I attach the cable and I go to the music tabs it shows Sync Music to iPhone Pro 13 unticked which is strange because this has always been ticked previously. It's as if iTunes is automatically taking it out and then my iPhone is thinking I need to re-sync my whole library. Never seen this before.

Does anyone know where the iPhone picks up the information from when it syncs with iTunes?

I keep all music organised by iTunes in the media folder shown below - may my iPhone is picking up the information from somewhere else? Is there anywhere I can check?

My Mac Book is just not recognising what is already on my iPhone and I just cannot see any solution at the moment

How do I know where my iPhone13 Pro is pulling the songs from?

Had another play around with it last night and it seems to sync play lists and selected genres ok but as soon as I go to the entire library it forgets it on the next sync. The problem I have is it takes so long to sync 20,000 songs I am getting really frustrated when it doesn't work each time

Had a call from Apple Support today and I knew more than the person on the phone - Useless

I have a funny feeling it could be something to do with this?

For some reason iTunes is not seeing the songs that are already on the iPhone and it is syncing them all again every time.

I have noticed when it does the syncing every time the songs are still showing on my iPhone but they are greyed out so you cannot play them, then after the sync the songs become available to play again.

Is my iPhone reading the wrong folder?

Why are those songs not sticking to the phone and iTunes re-syncs?

So frustrating
