Same 237 songs syncing each time

Just had my new iPhone 13 Pro Max and the same 237 songs keep syncing the phone

I am syncing direct from my Mac to my iPhone

Is there anyway to prevent these same 237 syncing all the time?

I don't use the cloud for music so that cannot be the issue

Hope you can help as it is taking longer than normal to sync

iPhone 13 Pro, iOS 15

I don't use iCloud for my Music and I don't use Apple Music subscriptions or iTunes match

I have spent the last 3 days trying everything to get my music to stick to my iPhone but every time I go to sync it syncs the 20,000 songs every time.

Do you think changing my Apple ID on my Mac and iPhone will help or doesn't that matter?

99% of my music is imported or downloaded (not from Apple)

Really frustrated :(

So frustrated by this that I am thinking it is either an iPhone Pro 13 issue or with 2018 Mac Book Pro issue with my products only.

Thinking of buying a new MacBook Air to start again - a little drastic but sick of having to go through the syncing of 20,000 songs every time I want to add 1 new album.

I have done absolutely everything including restoring iPhone, logging in and out of iTunes Account on phone/Mac, removing music and re-sycning but still it either syncs everything all over every time or tells me wrong region. There is definitely an issue with my Mac not reading my iPhone. I dont use the cloud at all for my music so it should be straight forward.

One thing I have also found which is strange - when I click on "Check for Update" from the finder when the iPhone is plugged in the message pops up 3 times. That doesn't seem right. I have to ok it 3 times before it disappears. Something doesn't seem right.

Also when you click on your device that is attached to your Mac in iTunes/Music it brings up a list of songs on your Mac and gives options to Auto Fill etc .....what is the point in this? What is this used for because it just seems pointless?

Still going around in circles looking for answers Sorry

Yes I tried you thread on erratic syncing and logged out of iTunes Store on my Mac and then logged out on my device. Tried both.

I also tried to pick certain play lists to sync first so I am syncing a small amount at a time but every time I go and sync the next time it just decides to forget what is on my device and go through the whole process again.

As I mentioned previously when I do sync again it keeps the songs on my device but they then go greyed out for some reason.

Whatever I seem to do Apple Music/iTunes is not recognising the music on my device and updates it all again. It should only update the new items.

I have looked on google and found there are others with the same problem which seems to be unresolved by Apple.

Looks like I am going to have to sync 20,000 songs every time I want to add anything new

I would typically review the Work column in the Songs layout, but if those fields are empty then that isn't the issue. What format are the tracks in? The is an obscure issue with multiple tags in MP3 files that can sometimes cause problems. See the Multiple tags (MP3 files only) section of Repair security permissions for iTunes for Mac - Apple Community.
