I use the Find and Replace function quite frequently for my work, and with this new update, it no longer works. The Find / Find and Replace window appears, but it doesn't actually find (or highlight) the word, even though it is absolutely within the document. And then of course, it will not replace it, either. Any solutions?

With all respect UncleFlinsky, I followed your advice and discovered I could fix this problem in one minute:
fix it now in less than one minute
the problem occurs when the computer is shut down with open documents and the option "reopen windows when logging back in" is chosen on shut down. each document that is "reopened" automatically will no longer be able to use find
Closed the file and Quit Pages before putting the computer to Sleep or Shutting Down. That only temporarily fixes the problem of Find/Find & Replace failing to work. The fix lasts about as long as Duplicating the File and throwing the old one away does: not very long, day or two at most.

I just got a new Mac Studio Max, using MacOS 12.3.1 and the Find function has been fixed.
In fact, I believe it was fixed in the last update on my iMac i9.
Hi there. I really hoped I had made it clear in my post but I fully understand how Find and Replace works. I use it every single day. I am saying that the function does not work anymore. In fact, I had already selected the same settings as you before I posted my question. When I pull up the find box using Command + F, I type the word to find, and the word to replace it with. It simply doesn't "find" the word, or highlight it, so I therefore cannot make use of the "replace" feature, either.
You can see in first screenshot that I have selected the same settings, and in the second screenshot, you can see "find" is highlighted in the box, indicating I have pressed "enter", which would normally find all instances of the word I'm trying to find and highlight them, as well as highlighting each found word one-by-one in a different color (usually yellow, for me) as I replace the individual words I would like to replace the found word with.

Hopefully that clears up my question. I know how to use Find and Replace, but the feature is simply not working.
I have the same exact issue. It's frustrating when someone responds by telling you how the feature works. It's a waste of everyone's time. I have been using Pages for years and then suddenly the find feature stopped working. I can't find any solutions online. If you figure this out, please post the solution. Thanks.
I have the same issue since I updated to Pages version 11.2 (7032.0.145). This is a bug and I hope Apple fixes it soon.
I have restarted, rebooted etc. and still does not work. :(

The Pages feedback option is right where you say and it only took a few minutes to fill out the form where I complained bitterly. Ruggiero's right to encourage us all to pressure Apple on this issue.
Did the same and it did work. Next time, Find doesn't work again. Repeatedly.
Since the last update (11.2), when I try to use Find, I just get the message "Nothing selected. Select an object or text to format." under Format (see the screenshot) in most cases. Looks like Find and Format somehow got mixed up?
Last evening I've installed macOS Monterey, today starting with clean Pages, opened one document, trying to look up something using Find - again, just "Nothing selected. Select an object or text to format."
So, at this moment, I have to restart Pages and/or the computer most of times I need to use Find. Frustrating. Ridiculous. Unusable.
What UncleFlinsky said just worked for me. It should be fixed, though. This is clearly a bug. We shouldn't have to close all documents etc to get Pages' Find to start working again when it has worked just fine before recently, before whatever this update did to it.

The way to get rid of it seems rather aleatory.
The only way it might disappear is in the hands of Apple developers.
Cross our finger and call for Apple technical support so that the glitch can "climb" to senior technicians…

The solution is indeed transient: find fails immediately after restarting the computer with documents left open in Pages.
It looks like Pages's state is being corrupted as a result of the normal operation of closing the app with open documents.
I am currently running Pages version 12.1 and I am experiencing the same problem. I did once go through a stop-everything-restart-and-repeat cycle that did work. that approach is not acceptable. But search and replace on the iPad has not failed me, so that is my work around.
I have the same issue and looks like it manifests when I open a document on a MAC/iPad then reopen the same document to work on it from a different MAC/iPad. Definitely a bug.
No, you can just close and reopen the document, not bothering the app or other open documents. And be sure to report this bug.
I stated how Pages v11.2 actually works for me on macOS 11.6 by attempting to reproduce the OP's results and cannot using their very text example, or actually testing on other documents of my own. You are not alone in using Pages for years, and I simply cannot reproduce the lack of Find/Replace results here.
I agree. This worked for me too. (And I too had tried lots of other things, and have used Page, and "Find" and "Find & Replace" for years.)
This seems to be a bug an Apple should fix it.
If you write with Pages, you need this function.
