updated apps on app store not showing up on my iphone 13

I've run into two situations last night where I found 2 apps that I use, that were updated in the last 48 hours that are not shown in the available update queue. The older versions were on my iPhone 13. I did a search for the apps on the store and found both versions were the updated but the update buttons were not shown. If I hit the open button shown in the App Store, my older version ran. No update occurred.

I had to delete the apps from my iPhone and then go back to the app store and download them. That got me the latest versions. What's strange is that I'm am regularly getting daily update notifications in the available queue for many other apps. But these two were out there but didn't go into the available queue notification nor did the update button show on them when I searched them out on the app store.

I have seen posts from previous years where this same problem was reported as a random bug. Fixes were stated from deleting the app and reloading (which is the method I did) to forcing a refresh of the app queue to restarting the iPhone. I tried both although I couldn't get a definitive answer on how to force a refresh of the app queue.

The person I talked to at Apple support was not aware of any problems and sort of dismissed it as a fluke. Since getting my new iPhone 13 on Friday till today, I've gotten a lot of app update notifications and have down loaded those. The two apps that didn't notify me of their updates were updated in the app store in the last 48 hours.

Needless to say I'm not confident right now that I'm getting notified and fear I will miss important updates of my apps.
