Older Photos in I Message not showing up when scrolling through

Welcome to the Apple Community, and thank you for your input.

It seems wise to always keep a back-up of anything you value, from any computer, or device.

EG: In Messages on Mac there are Settings for choosing how long to keep message conversations in your account.

For example, if you choose 30 Days, your conversations (and all attachments) are available in Messages for 30 days.

After that, they are automatically removed. (NB: You can choose to keep message conversations "Forever")

Some of us immediately save photos we receive in messages elsewhere.

If your iPhone messages and any attachments are stored in iCloud, you may have more free space on your iPhone.

As we are all Apple users here, like yourself, Apple won't read your request.

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, it’s not a storage issue as I have lots of it both on my phone and iCloud. And I do have all my messages as “forever” and have no problem retrieving messages from 2010. The issue is no photos that were sent via mms passed a certain date are showing up on my phone. It only shows as a “bubble”, where previously a picture was sent. Thankfully, I am able to receive all my messages including mms photos on my Mac unfortunately not my new iPhone 13 pro.

ive don’t every troubleshooting, I have seen online and have been hours on the phone with apple and no fix.

I’ve turned off and on iCloud messages, logon off iCloud, disabled/enables iPhone messages, rebooted my iPhone, reinstalled the shortcut app, toggled off and on the Siri search messages options, changed locations/language, reset my phone to factory setting and nothing. :(

You have certainly put in much effort, so sorry you are still without a solution.

At least Apple know about your situation now.

I am having the same issues. Photos passed one year don’t show up, just a bubble. This is new since I received my iPhone 13pro. Apple please help
