ID Theft Protection and the titanium Apple Card
The Apple Card comes with an ID Theft Protection benefit through applecard.idprotectiononline.com, a service that helps you detect, prevent and recover from identity theft. This is one my favorite perks of having an Apple Card!
In order to make use of it, though, you have to enter information on what you want to have monitored for ID theft such as email addresses, phone numbers, bank accounts, your social security number, credit cards, etc.
So to take advantage of this wonderful and valuable benefit, you need to enter the first 6 digits of a credit card as well as the last 4 digits. This is enough information for monitoring for fraud without needing to give them the entire card number.
So to enter the titanium Apple Card for ID for theft monitoring, you need the first 6 digits of the card in addition to the last 4 digits. Note that monitoring for ID theft only works if you provide accurate information, and the rumor the first 6 digits are the same as the online Apple Card number is only that - a rumor! And I don't want to put my fate into the hands a rumor every time I swipe my titanium Apple Card!
So how does one obtain the information necessary to use the ID theft protection provided by Apple Card, namely the first 6 digits of the titanium Apple Card?
