Siri not playing songs from Apple Music when asked for a specific song

Updating the iOS to 15.1 fixed the problem for me. Now, as before, I can simply ask Siri to play a specific album by a specific artist, on repeat, and it works. It's still rather frustrating that the inability of something as common as asking Siri to play an album, was not noticed by anyone prior to releasing a major update. Are all the beta testers and employees not using their toys?

Hello _oh! Did removing the song from your library and adding it again have any effect, as previously mentioned? Also, since our last interaction, there's been some additional updates to iOS released. If you update to the latest iOS available for your device, does Apple Music work as you'd expect it to? Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Hello _oh! If this issue is with just one specific song that's in your library, let's remove that song from your library then add it again and try to play the song again with Siri. Delete music, movies, and TV shows from your device

It's not his one song. This is widespread. I used to start my work day by asking Siri to play a specific album by a specific artist, on repeat. She just says "one sec".... then "still working on it" and then she can't find it in the library. Power cycle does not help. Turning off listening for "hey Siri" and turning it back on, and resetting it back up, which was suggested in another forum, didn't solve it for me either. You would think with 150,000 employees, Apple would test everything a little better before releasing major updates. What are we paying these prices for if the software doesn't work and the fixes are a long time coming.

I received the iOS 15.2 update on the phone that added the ability to ask siri to play a song and it works just fine. The Apple Voice plan needed to be included with the family plan we have i guess.

Same problem - when using Siri in VW car using 4g or when using at home connected to WiFi - if I ask Siri to play from my Apple Music , anything at all then it says “ on it “ , and then “ Apple Music does not support that” . If I go to Apple Music and manually search for the songs I want to play , it finds them with no problem . Prior to updating to IOS 15.1.1 , all worked fine . Since 15.1.1 it just does not work at all .

I also started having this problem after upgrading to 15.1.1. Siri no longer can play any song you ask for, she can only play songs in your library.

Also after upgrading to 15.1.1 certain audio devices (like my car stereo) are no longer recognized.

I would advise anyone against upgrading to 15 for the time being.

iOS 15.1 Siri defers to Spotify instead of My Music library on 4G or WiFi … Also doesn’t seem to recognize some artists whose names are clearly written in my Library searches

I am having this same problem after upgrading my phone to 13 pro max. I have been subscribing to the family plan for a while and before with my XS Max I would say Hey Siri, play insert artist and song here, and it would play. Now it says it is not in my library. If I want to play a song while driving I have to open the app and search for the song. I have wireless Carplay in my car. C’mon Apple!

I am having the same problem. I have restarted both devices tried everting and Siri now just started “can’t find such and such artist in your Apple Music library” it also wont play radio stations when asked. This is super irritating and Apple needs to fix it asap otherwise this HomePod is basically useless

my phone is also updated to 15.2 but HomePod still won’t play music I ask it to play. It says “can’t locate that song in your Apple library”. If I ask my phone it works perfectly, but not on the HomePod mini … it worked last week, just not now ….

I have the same issue with Siri and Apple Music and I am already on iOS 15.1.1. This use to work just fine. But now it does not.
