Pages, page numbering on Mac.

The option in the Sections tab for numbering is grayed out. I can not select what page to start on or order.

Hi JoeJanine,

To make those controls active, there must be a page number inserted in either the header or footer.

"Edit Master Pages" in Pages is not working! I want to edit Master pages in Pages. I followed the directions in Help,: Click in the toolbar, then choose Edit Master Pages. However there was no "Edit Master Pages" on the list when it appeared. I did find a "Edit Master Pages" in the dropdown view menu but it was greyed out. No amount of clicking made it turn black/functional. The key command for Edit Master Pages, Shift-Command-E, had no effect. I've tried accessing this feature in multiple documents both new and old to no avail. I'm running OS 10.15.6 on a MacBook Pro and this problem occurred with both Pages 10.0 and 10.1 HELP! I need to edit the master pages.

Apple Pages on Mac mini page numbering stuck at 1. It's page one on every single document page.

Pages Whatever instructions are on the internet or in Apple, Macbook Pro 2021 cannot make Pages open with a blank template even when set correctly in Settings. Just a button at the bottom of the screen with word New Document. Want to open Pages, and have blank template to be there automatically and ready to type. This has been the problem since Monterey and continues with Ventura.

I'm trying to format my book, but the header/footer is showing up on all pages and I only want it to be on page 1 where Chapter 1 begins.

Instead what should be page one is page 7.

How do I get page one to be where I want it?
