How do I get my watch face to come on when I turn my wrist?

Make sure you are not in Theater Mode:

Use Control Center on your Apple Watch - Apple Support

1) Make sure Theater mode is off (swipe up and make sure double mask orange icon is off)

2) Make sure wrist orientation is correct wrist (Settings then General then Orientation)

If it does not come on if you press a side button, make sure it has charge and is powered on (press and hole crown and side button until Apple logo appears).
