Mac OS big sur 11.6 steam won't open

New to steam just downloaded for the first time on Mac OS 11.6 Big sur. When i try to open it just bounces for a second and doesn't ever open. I have tried looking for files but none exist have deleted so many times and reinstalled. nothing seams to work. Please help

I downloaded steam onto my macbook and it won't open at all. Hi! I've been struggling with this for a while but every time I download steam onto my macbook to try and play a game, I'll try to open it and nothing happens. It doesn't crash or anything, it simply doesn't open. If I click on it, it'll bounce once as if it's about to open and then nothing happens. I've tried to figure out why it won't open. My computer is completely up to date. I've tried contacting steam, I've done many google searches, I've even asked some of my more tech savvy friends to help and they can't figure it out either. steam is not launching on my mac when I try and open steam on my Mac it doesn't open. the icon flashes a bit on the applications bar at the bottom of the screen and then vanishes. I have gone to steam support for help but its useless, nothing comes up for help. this has been going on for over a year and I can't figure out what to do. I have tried reinstalling steam, restarting my Mac and deleting files. any advice or reasoning??

Cant open Steam I just downloaded steam to my mac but steam won't open and I approved it and hit "open". I've reinstalled steam a few times and looked at my settings. All my other programs are still open. Steam is the only program that will not open. What am I doing wrong?
