software update
There’s a software update ios 15 for my iphone x ,but it’s asking for wifi . even when i’m connected to wifi it’s still asking for wifi and the download and install option remains faded

You need to connect to a Wifi network.
You also need to charge the device, and preferably leave it connected to the charge circuit during the update process.
