iOS 15 Memories feature is a huge downgrade. With iOS15 - Can no longer pick parts of clips, change lengths of clips, change volume on clips. A huge, catastrophic downgrade in features.

Totally agree, please bring back old features for editing memories. This was probably the main feature I was using for long time. Now it’s gone, iPhone seems, pretty useless for me. Hope photo/iPhone update comes soon.

With this upgrade/downgrade my morning routine of editing and sending memories videos to friends and family has come to an end. I’m not able to replace the title photo and to customize the video clips well enough to enjoy sharing them. If only Apple could bring back the former editing functions or at least tweak the new program. The current program is so disappointing to me and other avid users.

Why do they change something that works. UGH.

I am not sure how you were able to adjust the portion of a video, but this new version is awful.

They took away all our editing options.

It's like all they cared about was adding Apple music so you would subscribe to their music service. OMG!

After mail and the phone (well of course) apps, photos and memories were the only other built in iPhone app I used.

Android is looking better and better.

Now, there are sometimes 3 pics on a frame, totally chaotic!

Please fix this ios15 disaster with memories! I have spent years making videos with accompanying music. With no warning this would happen, I updated phone, and Apple deleted songs that I purchased through itunes from videos and has hideous selection randomly put to them?! Has changed the sequence they spent countless errors creating them, this is unacceptable. Now you have copyright infringement if I share a video through text message ? what’s point of a memory movie w a song I can’t share? This hugely disappointing, and I would gladly change back to previous update.

ios 15 completely massacres the previously great functionality og memories.

Please bring back the great Memories features from iOS 14 - enabling individuals to make the memory of their own choosing.

it is no longer possible to select custom tracks from music library, or edit individual sequences.

What reasoning could possibly justify removing this completely and deliberately making the new memories feature inferior?

All of this ^^^ And on top of all that there are bugs randomly changing panning after I spend time creating a custom video making it a total waste of time to even try editing the memories videos being generated all day every day. And purchased music and videos are gone as comment above also noted. And I am already an Apple music subscriber. So disappointed.

Absolutely agree. It’s horrendous. I’m so disappointed and disgusted by this. They took away key controls. Memories were a part of my New Years tradition, sharing with friends and family. It’s absolutely horrid now and I’ll have to find a 3rd party app to do this. It’s just embarrassing to go backwards in the user experience, Apple. I don’t even know what else to say. I can’t believe it. Horrible. For all the money we spend with you to have a “top of the line experience” in our technology…

So frustrating- this was a awesome feature by apple that is now missing!! To be able to make a memory out of an album! And the AI that is making memories for us is way too many - I have like 50 memories of stupid events cause it’s so random! Ugh!!! Please please fix back to the way it was!!!

Ugh!!! SAME AS EVERYONE ELSE. We used to use version 14 to create mini memories without music and then create a movie in Imovie. This is a HUGE down grade as we cannot create movies anymore with no sound or our own music. Terrible! Please update this version. The music offered and lack of options to edit is horrible.

Thanks for the link, I just expressed my frustration for eliminating the old memory editing features discussed in this thread. Does anyone know of a paid app that will do similar functionality as the old memory editing program??

WHY ON EARTH, Apple would take such excellent features out. For God's sake Apple, what the heck was the downgrade for. That was one of my Favourite features of the iPhone. I might consider going to an Android phone now. Imagine this is how bad it is.

Couldn’t agree more. With 6 MacBook pros - of different generations (private & work), - 4 iPhones, cinema X, 2 aplple TVs , AirPods Pro and much more I would definitely consider myself an Apple enthusiast - even evangelist - and out of all their products features I would easily single out the Memories feature (the way it was before they broke it all) my favourite feature of them all. Who on gods earth in their right mind would kill something like that.

And why won’t they at least join the discussion to try and justify the massacre? Pretty please with sugar on top - bring it back! Amen.

If it is due to lack of income - then at least provide it as a paid service. I don’t have the words to describe my utter disappointment with this move. I simply no longer have the use for it in the state it’s in.

I need to add my own music to my own memories, and be able to edit every aspect of my own memory to my own likings - just the way it was. How can anyone disagree with that?

Yes really ridiculous. And totally useless with no control or edit other than choosing photos and music. And every time, you are having to create from scratch. It’s pathetic how Apple could approve. Change like this
