Auto Brightness control; can it be turned off?

Hello. I have a 2020 Mac Mini M1. I use a hardware calibrated monitor (BenQ SW270C) and am connected via USB-C.

I have noticed that from time to time that the monitor auto-adjust the brightness while working on content. This can make editing images accurately very difficult if not impossible.

When checking at About this Mac/System Report/Graphics Displays I see that Auto Brightness is set to "Yes". I am unsure if this might be the culprit, but I cannot see any way to disable this feature to see if it is indeed the problem.

Help!

Hey Limeman,

We see that you're wanting to turn off Auto-Brightness to ensure its not affecting the monitor. To disable auto-brightness, click Apple Menu > System Preferences > Displays > Display, and uncheck "Automatically adjust brightness": Change your Mac display’s brightness

Hello. Thank you for the reply. Unfortunately, I do not have a Macbook. I have a Mac Mini and there is no "automatically adjust brightness" toggle to uncheck. The only item to check/uncheck is for HDR content. Any other suggestions?

Mac Mini has the same preference pane. There should be a box to check that turns off auto brightness.
