Is anyone else having problems with Messenger badge notifications after upgrading to iOS 15?
Badge notifications are not showing up for me at all. No problems with any other app. I’ve deleted and reinstalled more than once and I’ve downloaded the latest version of Messenger. I’ve also installed iOS 15.1 and it hasn’t fixed the problem. It’s driving me mad!

It appears that you're not seeing badge notifications specifically from the Message app, even after updating the app and your iPhone 12, deleting, and reinstalling the app.
You could see if a normal restart of your iPhone may help: Restart your iPhone If the issue continues and is only happening with that app, you can reach out to the app developer for further help. This article shows how to possibly reach out to them: How to contact an app developer - Apple Support

Thank you for letting us know. There are several resets that can be done. Can you clarify for us which reset you've done? Another step you can take is to make sure the Messenger app is fully updated: How to manually update apps on your Apple device - Apple Support
If the issue continues and only happens with the Messenger app, then reaching out to the app developer might help.

Exactly the same, I have just spent the last few hours searching on-line for solution to no avail. Only seems to be messenger - text / mail / whatsapp etc all work perfectly.
I get the sound notification but no badge, if I open Messenger DON'T open the chat / close messenger the badge is there - frustrating as I work in a noisy steel workshop I like to see when I have a message.

It seems to be an issue with the iOS software. Messenger just released a further update today and it still hasn’t fixed the issue. I suspect it’s iOS as I have an old iPhone SE on iOS 14.8 which worked perfectly then after its update to iOS 15 the badge notifications stopped. Facebook must be aware of this issue as their ratings in the App Store are being hit by people complaining about this.
I have contacted fb messenger and they have said the same, it's something to do with the latest ios update. I have done a soft reset followed by removing and reinstalling app, even tried a complete 'hard' reset - which was a major pain - still the same ALL settings are as they should be.
Wife has yet to update to 15 - copied all her settings - hers works as it should, mine alas 'badgeless'
Issue with the iPhone software NOT messenger. latest update didn't fix the issue either - a lot of others having same issue - any idea when this will be fixed please.
I have done a restart, and a reset. I have also messaged FB Messenger. However, it's not an issue with Messenger I don't think, it's an issue with iOS 15.
Update: Messenger is now working again. I am getting badge notifications and all messages are coming through as normal.
Yes, agreed. All suddenly started working as normal - clearly as a result of a FB/Messenger tweak and/or an iOS 15 tweak.
