macbook air display - shadows of previous windows

There are shadows of previous windows on my MacBook Air. Occurs randomly, across users, even when screensaver is on, not because of extended use (no more than five minutes on any single screen). If this is possible the shadow appears as if ‘beneath’ whatever new thing is being displayed. Any ideas for correcting?

David Richardson3,

Let’s work on some isolating steps, to see what else we can learn about the issue. You’ve mentioned the persistent image seems to be in your web browser and often related to a specific site, though not isolated to that site 100%.

From your picture it looks like things are in full screen, does the situation persist when you’re using the app not in full screen? How about if you test in a new user? Set up users, guests, and groups on Mac

Thank you.

Thank you.

the persistence goes after log off and shut down and occurs again - often (though not always) related to one website - mathletics.

not related to brightness of screen or content otherwise and persists whether follow on screen is dark or light.

in the image below the dark oblong on the bottom right is a persistence of a calculator from the website, on the left a list of numbers which came from the website. The persistence carries on through the new window content and the window banner.

hope you can help.

Good day to you David Richardson3,

We understand that you’re seeing a persistence of a previous image on the display of your Mac.

Does there seem to be any similarity to it, such as always the same app or it only happens if it was a bright screen? Are you only seeing it if the next screen is dark or light? Does the persistence go away on its own or are you having to perform a certain action first?

Thanks.
