Second WiFi interface - macOS Catalina

I've recently purchased an HP DeskJet 4100 printer with 'direct wifi'. In other words it will communicate over WiFi directly to a computer, without going through a router.

Currently I have to go into my WiFi settings and select the printer link. This drops my Internet WiFi link, and once I've finished printing I have to go back and enable the Internet link, dropping the printer link.

It would be nice to have some kind of second WiFi interface that would permit me to keep my main Internet link connected, while at the same time having the direct printer link also active. I thought about a USB WiFi dongle, but I don't think this gets around the issue of having only one WiFi interface available at a time. Any suggestions greatly appreciated.
