iPad mini

We are thinking of buying a relative an iPad mini to use so that they can easily stay in contact with us via video chat on messenger. They do not have wi-if in their home. Is there a way of using portable wi-fi/ dongle to facilitate this with N iPad mini?

Is it possible to remotely view (and control) an iPad? My mother (88 years old) uses an iPad to communicate with us children, grand-children and grand-grand-children. She masters this mostly ok but inevitably again and again bumps into situations where she doesn't know what to do or how to react to certain dialogues or popups (typically update-, license- or security-related stuff). It would be most helpful if she could then call me for assistance and I could remotely view (and ideally control) here device from my PC. I googled for such SW but haven't found anything convincing, yet. Most products even require to use the same WiFi network which clearly is a no-go in our situation. ipad use I have an Ipad that i only use at home with my wifi, but now i need to use it at a clients house in the morning and i don't know if they have wifi. How can i use it without using their wifi? Thanks

Remote control over internet To better communicate with my grandmother who are unable to operate the iPad reliably, I want to be able to access the iPad whenever she have problems. Are there any plans to make this service available over the internet? Or is it possible to set up a VPN link to get around the limitation? This function would be very helpful not only during the pandemic, but also afterwards as she lives over 2 hours away by car. I guess the alternative would be to use a Android tablet, but I was hoping to use an old iPad Air for this.

Without WiFi, you are presumably intending to use a Cellular connection with the iPad. If so, you have two choices:

1) Purchase a WiFi+Cellular model of iPad - and provision Cellular Service from your chosen Cellular provider.

2) As an alternative, consider purchase of a Cellular Router - also commonly known as MiFi. These router devices have a WiFi hotspot - to which any iPad can connect using WiFi.

Both options require purchase of the appropriate hardware (iPad, Cellular Router - or both) and a Cellular Service subscription from your chosen provider.
