Request Timed Out Apple Music

Apple Music seems to be having an issue with iOS 15/15.0.1. While on a cellular connection, about 80% of the songs I try to play time out. I’m getting a very strong cell connection with great throughput, so it’s not that. It seems to work normally while on Wi-Fi. I’ve tried restarting, restoring to factory, a new phone (iPhone 12 to iPhone 13), but get the same issue. I’m pretty tech savvy, but I can’t figure this out. Help!

Honestly I believe Apple Music is the superior music service, but I am about a week away from switching to Spotify. This is the most frustrating issue I’ve ever faced. Me and my wife both are having it, we basically can’t play music outside of WiFi. Get it together Apple!

I am having the same issue, as is my spouse. Its beyond frustrating at this point.

I recently had to switch phones and locked my apple id out. Had to deal with the beyond ridiculous recovery process. And now I cant use apple music properly, icloud wont back up either. My id is the main one on my family sharing, I removed my old phone and its still not working. I have done all the suggested fixes and nothing has worked.

I’m so glad I found this board. I called Apple Music with this exact issue a few days ago and they kept telling me I was just in a bad cellular signal area and that I should download all the songs I want to listen to while on Wi-Fi. I told the apple rep that defeats the entire purpose of streaming new music.

If this doesn’t get fixed soon, I am moving to Spotify.

Physical SIM. At&T 5G (which has sucked btw. No difference at all in speed)

Also, I spoke too soon. After turning Dolby Atmos to "OFF" , turning Lossless Audio to "OFF", and setting Cellular Streaming to "High Efficiency" - more songs play, but i still get the occasional "request timed out" hiccup. It will skip the song and if i force it to back and try it again, it will play after 2-3 times. Annoying.

sorry, i forgot to follow up.

I had the same problems when i first got my iphone 13 Pro with iOS 15. request timed out. i tried everything that was mentioned in this thread and other forums. i toggled everything. i did a factory reset. i lowered all the audio settings and disabled Dolby and Lossless. i even cancelled my Apple Music account and then re-subscribed after it expired. while some of those solutions may have helped, nothing ever truly solved it 100%.

And then, a few weeks ago. it just… started working. i thought i’d tempt fate - i maxed out all my audio quality settings. Dolby back on. Lossless back on. A song *might* take a couple of seconds sometimes, but i haven’t gotten another “request timed out” error again.

i wish i could be of more help, but i hope everyone experiences the same thing as i did and it just starts to work again.
