my serial number is not valid

MacBook serial number is not valid I tried to contact support. This requires entering serial number. I entered my serial number and got: "We’re sorry, but that is not a valid serial number. Please try again." There is no way to contact support even to resolve this serial number issue (so stupid, Apple). MacBook was purchased on apple.com, so there should be no issue with it.

Look for small font faint printing on the bottom of the unit. S/N should be there.
