Beep sound when pressing "mute" during a call

Perhaps they were thinking not everyone thinks like you as the beep is one of my favorite features of iOS 15.

You can hit mute and know mute has toggled state without having to look at the screen, as has been the case for decades with many regular phones.

Thanks for the reply, but that is exceptionally poor design. Just a baffling choice. I'll use that feedback form right now.

I can’t stand this mute switch sound “feature” anymore. We can try to get the engineers at Apple to mute the mute button.

You don't roll back to prior iOS. Apple does not support downgrading iOS. You need to provide feedback to Apple as has been explained before. Use this link, Feedback - iPhone - Apple

You guys need to send a complain to that feed back link above because apparently apply doesn’t look at these comments it’s only for apple users. I just sent in a complaint.

I just upgraded my iPhone 12 to ios15 and after 2 hours of conference calls (where I need to mute/unmute), I have a horrible headache from having to hear the loud beep in my ears (I wear headphones) every time I need to speak. This is insane. Making such a huge change w/o giving users a way to turn it off is unacceptable. My apple household may be switching to android - it's that bad. I've submitted feedback via the link below. I'm just disbelief that such a ridiculous, obtrusive feature would be released like this. I want to run my iPhone over w my car.

this is dreadful that you cant mute the sound when you hit the mute button. Please fix immediately and just put it in sound & haptics under settings.

Please tell microsoft teams to do the same thing with their mute button. This is why i never update until a year later but had to get the new iphone that already had IOS 15

I'm not stopping you from doing anything. As I stated in my post, I'm a user like you. Apple does not participate here, and I provided the only way for you to let Apple know you don't like that sound.

1. Can the person I am on the phone with here the alert? I have to go on and off mute all the time on conference calls with multiple people and I want to make sure they can’t here this.
2. PLEASE LET US Turn off this feature! Having no way to do this is not a benefit.

Just an insanely malicious and user-unfriendly design choice.... what on earth possessed anyone to think this was a good idea. Hopefully Apple fixes this in next release before I have to throw my phone into the river

This is unexpected there should be a way to turn it off. If you want to make this change then give us a way to turn it off. I use to be a apple fan now you lost another customer. I will not be getting any new apple products. I'm done.

I absolutely agree – a beep sound when muting or unmuting defeats the whole purpose of having a mute. I mute because I am trying to eliminate background noise., and it is annoying and distracting to have a conversation punctuated by dozens of beeps. I also agree that this is bad enough to consider switching to android.
