I have an older Ipod touch that I can not delete photos from. I can only copy, share.

How to Delete photos from my Ipod? I will only let me copy and share.

Perhaps I wasn't clear enough.


Use iTunes to look at the Device/Photos tab. Do not use Window Explorer.


  • Connect the iPod to your computer and once iTunes sees it, click on the iPod icon that appears below the top bar menu:



  • Once you have selected the Device icon (as indicated in the screenshot above), you will see a screen similar to the one below:


  • once you select the Settings/Photos option, you will see the following screen:



  • using the screen shown above as your guide, un-tick (uncheck) the box named Sync Photos
  • alternatively, if that option is not ticked, tick it now and choose a folder on your current computer to sync with the iPod. It can have no photos in it if you wish, this is simply to get iTunes to remove the old photos

If they were synced on they will have to be synced off. Connect your ipod to your computer and, in iTunes, look under the various tabs, perhaps even an info tab (it has been called different things over the years) until you can find where you sync the photos.


Beyond that your only other way is to wipe the ipod, erasing it back to factory specs and start all over.
