I have a mini iPad 6 th generation and have a cover that says sleep and wake do I have activate something for it to work

if the cover states compatible with the iPad Mini 6, the cover should have the magnets in the proper place to autmaticall turn the iPad Mini 6 screen on or off.

You should NOT have to do anything.
