airplay passcode not being accepted

I had this issue for audio streaming with an AirPlay 2 enabled receiver. The solution was to enter my Router password as the AirPlay password. Not sure if this works via Control Center, I added the receiver as an AirPlay speaker using the Home app. (Actually I had to use the password for my "guest" wifi network, not my primary.) Apple, please let your reps know about this... I might have saved 5+ hours of my time.

Hi Jeff, did you find a solution to this? I have a new Sony google tv with airplay. My phone recognises the tv but doesn’t accept the code.

Please post if you find the solution. I have a call scheduled with apple support tomorrow.
