Carplay issues with Waze and Spotify

I currently have a 2018 Toyota Camry where I got a retrofit download of carplay directly from the dealership. There are two main issues I am running into, specifically with Waze and Spotify:

Waze:

• If waze makes a PEEP from an alert or just reading the directions, the audio breaks and switches over to USB through the car, not carplay. After this happens, the audio worsens and when using the previous and next song buttons, instead of changing the song it shifts over the windows on carplay! To get it back to normal I have to disconnect and reconnect my phone. Now I just can't use waze alerts which stinks and is unnecessary.

Spotify Issue:

• My "Liked songs" playlist disappears if I don't click it within the first 1 second of it appearing in the playlist section. After that it disappears and I need to choose it from my phone. After that, the song doesn't even appear as "now playing" in carplay and I have to manually change the songs going forward from my phone as well.
• When the above glitch happens for waze, the audio quality becomes horrendous.
