Notes on iPad limitation

Tonight I loaded an 87page pdf into Apple Notes on my Mac which works fine.

opening the note in my iPad (iPad Pro 11” 2020 running ipados15) it won’t let me read past page 47 - I.e it resets back on page 1??? Does anyone know if there’s a size limit? (BTW - works seamlessly in Notability?)

very frustrating.

really appreciate any assist anyone can bring…

This sounds weird. I just put a 170p PDF into a new note and everything was smooth. No problem to scroll to all pages, no errors nor glitches. What is the size of your PDF? Is it generated from text or is it a scanned document (and therefore bigger?)

I just put a second big PDF (166 scanned pages, 71MB) into the very same note. No problems so far…

By the way: why do you organize PDF in a note? (Just curious)…

Thanks for the swift reply but after being on a chat to Apple last night they say there’s no limit. Additionally, the document opens and works fine with my mew iPhone 13Pro - so go figure? I think it’s either a glitch with ipados15.01 or my iPad Pro11”?

After experimenting with the new Notes, and particularly the Notes/ Reminders/ Calendar integrations I believe this is better (for me anyway) than Notability which I’ve been a power user for years (10,000+ pages of notes to date)

it’s just that this is Sooooo frustrating.

Again, thanks so much for the reply. Will let you know how things go

Thanks for the reply. The PDF is 87pages and 17meg in size. Its a finance recommendation document that came to me as a PDF so I want to markup with hand written notes in specific sections in preparation for a meeting to review.

I find it works well for me to have highlighting, notes and call outs in sections keeps me focused in the meeting and I then take live notes as things proceed. You can also voice record alongside, then attach this at the end.
