Bootcamp assistant drivers missing 2021

the bootcamp assistant fails to finish assistance to make a wininstall drive to load new win 10 on my new Intel NUC and says ... disc too small ... but really it isnt ... only need 8 gig ..Ive a small ssd put the windows start up on ( it says unsuccessful ...so I tried it anyway ) and it almost gets going ..then says .. the driver is missing ..back to the mac ...bootcamp assistant and like an old post from 2016 says download windows support software ( action menu in bootcamp assistant )...ok ..then ... direct it to my WININSTALL ssd but I dont see any progress ... going to pop it in and try again ...it seem the "Devils Shoelaces " are the most frustrating thing to get two machines to work together on something ... would anyone have any clues at all please ? thanks

heres some other bits of info where Im doing this on Imac running sierra 10.12.6. its bootcamp 6.1.0
