IMac won't stay connected to home wifi

I have to open wifi symbol every day on my iMac and connect to my home network. Instead it always autoconnects to what I imagine is an xfiniti hotspot, even though my home is selected under Network/Automatically connect to this network. That hotspot never actually connects so when I can't get on the internet I always have to go up to status bar and manually reconnect to home. It's an everyday occurrence and maybe more than once if I've been idle. Thanks for any help.
