Go to Settings>Focus>Do Not Disturb. Tap on "People". Below "Allowed People" is another setting, "Also Allow". Tap on that. Make sure it's set to "No One" and that "Allow Repeated Calls" is set to "Off".

oh my god I thought I finally found my exact issue and it turns out all of you have the opposite of my problem. I tried everything with every setting, anyone trying to call will still go to VM after 1/2 a ring then have to call right back. At wits end I Said **** it, recently bought brand new 12(after buying prev. SE2020 also new) after iCloud update etc etc SAME PROBLEM. Did everything you could in focus options, even if I do turn DnD on, and put say a number from contacts under allowed section, they can’t get through either! I’ve tried every verizon and apple store Around. Nobody can figure out what’s causing it let alone why it jumped to new phone. So please anyone that’s even heard of this super annoying bug any suggestions would be a godsend [>_<]

Hi,

Sorry to hear you are having some trouble with DND on your iPhone.

Confirm all of he following have been completed in order to resolve your issue:

  • iOS is updated to the latest release, 15.2. This can be updated within Settings > General > Software Update.
  • Settings > Focus > Do not Disturb > make sure its swiped on/enabled.

If you do not want to receive any calls, from anyone, make sure your Focus Settings for DND are set to:

  • Settings > Focus > Do not Disturb enabled > Allowed Notifications should have ‘None Allowed’ for People and Apps.

Click on ‘People’ > click on ‘Calls From’ under ‘Also Allow’ > Phone calls should be set to ‘No One’ > Allow Repeated Calls should be disabled.

Note: Don’t add your Phone app under Always Allowed > Apps.

People > Also Allow > Allow Calls From:

  • Everyone: Allow incoming calls from everyone, regardless of DND status and who you have listed from your contracts under ‘Allowed People’.

  • No One: Allow incoming calls from only the contacts you added to the Focus under ‘Allowed People’. Allow repeated calls should be swiped off.

  • Favorites: Allow incoming calls from the contacts you added to the Focus under ‘Allowed People’ AS WELL AS your favorites. Allow repeated calls should be swiped off to avoid multiple calls from the same person.

  • All Contacts: Allow incoming calls from your contacts, which includes your ‘Allowed People’ you added to the Focus.

  • Groups: Allow incoming calls from the contacts you added to the Focus under ‘Allowed People’ as well as from this selected contract group. Allow repeated calls should be swiped off to avoid multiple calls from the same person.

If you are still getting unwanted calls, I would recommend resetting all settings in Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Reset > Reset All Settings.

After the reset, try to set up DND Focus again and see if the issue is resolved. If it is not, I would recommend contacting Apple Support for further guidance.

Hope this helps.
