Apple Maps Crashing after iOS 15 update

Does anyone know of a reported fix for the issue with Apple Maps crashing during navigation after iOS 15 update?

This happens on both my iPhone 11 and iPad Pro Gen 3 after the update.

Multiple times a day the app will shut off during navigation. Once opening the app again it will pick up where it left off but then it will crash again in a matter of minutes.

Apple support has put me through to a senior advisor twice with no luck. I have done everything including a complete restore of both devices with no improvement.

Ok ios15.1 fixes the crashes but as other maps users said it misses turns . I am happy the crashing is fixed .

So after a full day of testing after upgrading to iOS 15.1 I have had no crashes of the Apple Maps App. I have had something come up that is a little frustrating though. Typically when you come up to a turn around 150’ or so, it will tell you to turn. That is still a feature that is hit and miss. Every 5 turns or so it will fail to tell me to turn and just like that, in busy city traffic, I have missed my turn… Glad to see that the crashing of the app seems to be fixed, but I think there is still room for improvement on how the app is responding in real time.

I just updated to iOS 15.1 and so far everything seems to be back to normal. I use my maps all day everyday and I will know for sure by the end of today. If you’re in doubt, do the software update!

Mine immediately crashes when I type any of the following characters/numerals as the first character/number in a search.

”3”

”7”

”A”

”C”

”G”

”H”

I opened a case tonight with Apple Support and escalated it to Engineering. They acknowledged they were recently made aware of the problem and are actively working on a solution.

Ok, so I’m hopeful. I updated to iOS 15.1 and used Apple Maps to go to 4 destinations without it crashing… Fingers crossed.

I have the same issue which sucks. It’s dangerous for your navigation to close out.

also, if I as a passenger types 3 or H into Apple Maps to set a destination, it’ll force close. In those cases I have to switch to google maps or Waze.

Same here. Constantly crashes or should I say it just stops navigating. WTFlip. Very frustrating after I have setup everyone for eta. 18 plus people then have to do it multiple times on a 5 hour drive I do regularly.

Ever since the iOS 15 update, maps won’t work and I have to turn my phone off for 30 seconds and turn it back on. I have the 12 Max Pro. Also, when you click on a link, it says I don’t have internet service but I have all 5 bars of 5G showing and or I’m on wifi

Mine crashes if I hit the “9” or “f” key first. It does it every single time. Also it will do it if it has to switch from walking to driving directions. I’m on a 12 pro max.
