APPLE TV WIFI Password is incorrect: Error Message -3900 AND -100

in reply to the bunch of questions as to how to connect the wifi to apple tv when it shows this message and no way of putting in new password.

It is the WPA3 Security tab on Google Home that you need to disconnect the toggle to off for wifi connection and enter password for wifi. That is if you have Google Nest Router.

Apple TV cuts out again if you connect WPA3 security for wifi again.

It is surely a design fault of older Apple TVs.

surely

Thank you, Jon Snow.

WPA3 became available after June 2018. Many older devices (from any brand) may not be able to support that through firmware updates, depending on Wi-Fi chipset.

  • Protocol security - Apple Support. WPA3 is available for Apple TV 4K or later.
  • Fire TV doesn’t support WPA3 at this time. Any model.
  • Roku doesn’t support WPA3 at this time. Any model.
  • Chromecast with Google TV doesn’t support WPA3 at this time. 🤦‍♂️
  • Nvidia Shield doesn’t support WPA3 at this time.
  • Sony smart TVs do not support WPA3 at this time.
  • LG smart TVs do not support WPA3 at this time.
  • (do you spot a trend yet?)
