I am using an apple USB C to 3.5mm headphone adapter with a lavalier mic. It was working at first, but not working any more. My computer recognizes the mic in the "output" but not in the "input". I need to select it as input to use the mic on Zoom calls. Please advise.

This will start up your Mac so that it performs certain checks and prevents some software from automatically loading or opening, which could help narrow down the cause of issue. After testing in safe mode, restart your Mac normally to see if the behavior continues.
