iPhone 13 pro and pro max LEO?

i can’t find anything concrete on the subject but would like to know if iPhone 13 pro and pro max currently have the hardware but not software for emergency satellite communication

iPhone 14 emergency SOS via satellite demo not working I bought my wife an iPhone 14 in mid July 2023 and the emergency satellite demo has not worked from day one. If I try to use the demo I get a dialog telling me "satellite Connection Demo Not Available, the satellite connection demo is not available this moment. Try again later." I have an 'iPhone 14 plus' and the feature works fine on that phone but not on my wife's. I have waited for several software updates to see if this would fix the problem but it has made no difference. Can anyone tell me how to get this feature to work on my wife's phone as it is one of the reasons I bought her the phone in the first place.

Does the emergency notification feature transmit via satellite as an emergency beacon when cell service not available? When my Iphone13 Pro Max is out of cell phone service, can the emergency notification feature transmit via satellite as an emergency beacon? If it does, via what service and who covers the cost?
